Dear beautiful Black Man. I am writing this letter to first thank you for being simply beautiful.

A lot of you never hear the positive affirmation that you deserve. So many of you are GREAT Fathers Sons, brothers, Uncle’s, Grandfather’s, Godfather’s, and Friends, I want to thank you for being there.

Dear Beautiful Black Man, I will never understand your struggle, or your hustle. I will never understand how it feels to be born and already have two strikes against you. 1. Being Black 2.Being a Black Male. Three strikes if you are born into single family home. Dear Beautiful Black Man I will never understand being profiled by the police because I am a young black man that looks “suspicious.” Dear Beautiful Black Man. I will never understand the struggle of trying to build a legacy when you feel that the whole world is against you. Dear Beautiful Black Man, but I do understand that as a Beautiful Black woman, my job is to pray for you, that the weapons that form shall NEVER prosper. Make your home a castle that when you come home from fighting the war of the world you can be at peace and know that I have your back. I will nurture your seed and make sure that they know that their DADDY is the protector, provider, and teacher. And when times get hard like I know they will, I will be there to pray you through, affirm you, listen to you, push you and make you feel like the Beautiful Black Man that you are.

Dear Beautiful Black Man I see the struggle, I hear your concern, but know you are built to last, just take a look at your ancestors; Kings, Rulers, Prophets, Scientist, Civil Rights leaders, all of who struggled much like yourself and came out on TOP. To My Beautiful Black Men who have died because of your Beauty know that your blood shed is not in vain.  Your sons will know the sacrifice that you made, and they will be taught that their Beauty too, will someday bring pain, but they can overcome it!

I’ll pass on that $1,000,000

So as you all have heard me say before, I am a regular viewer of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. This week’s episode was called the “Big Release.” The episode consisted of Mama Dee actually acting like a “real” mother and not some imaginary Queen of a Kingdom that Scrappy built. Kirk Having an apology party for Rasheeda, a mini cat fight between Carly and Benzino’s new fiancé, Joseline leaving Steebie J to clear her mind and go hang out with K. Michelle, But the part of the show that really had me in tears was the release of the sex tape with MiMi and Niko. Now I know the sex tape has been out for about 3 months and we all had so much to say about the morality in having a sex tape as a mother period, but really as a mother of a little girl who will have to carry this with her as well. If you have been following the show, you will know that MiMi has been struggling with the tape coming out. She felt that she had no other choice but to sign over the sex tape to  vivo.com and make a profit off of this “misfortune” her famous line this whole season is “I did this to make sure that my daughter is good, and that I can provide for her on my own.” Despite everyone telling MiMi that Niko leaked that tape she continued with the process. Toward the end of the show they showed everyone’s reaction to them watching the sex tape. Erica’s reaction took the cake for me, being that she is close to MiMi. Erica and Ariane watched the tape together. The look of shock, disappointment, and hurt graced their faces. Erica slammed shut the iPad and with tears in her eyes said “I can’t watch this”   she proceeded to say “ I don’t care about what box or corner MiMi felt like she was in, she is a grown woman and had a choice, I care about Eva (MiMi & Steebie’s Daughter) because I have a little girl, and Eva will have to live with this too”  I was literally crying because I felt the pain of not only MiMi’s Friends, family but of MiMi as well. I truly believe she was embarrassed, torn, and wanted to look like the winner at the end. I believe Niko was the master mind behind this video. Ladies there is a lesson in this “Never connect yourself to someone who doesn’t have your best interest at heart, if they are frequently putting you in compromising situations, he never had your BEST interest at heart.” Besides the obvious of me not taping myself with a Man that was NOT my Husband.  Me personally I would have never signed a professional deal to promote me as a porn star for any amount of money. I would of have to let the tape get leaked and deal with consequences. But that’s me! What would you have done?

Bey Drops $7 Million On A Low Income Housing Project

So I know I’m not the only one who has set down and thought about what I could possibly do, if I had a Million dollars. My list went a little something like this. I would of course give Jesus his 10% and an offering, because without him it wouldn’t happen, cash out my mom, pay off my debt, put the rest in the bank and make small investments where my Husband and I will make money while we sleep. I often think about celebrities and how they give a portion of their money away to charity, some for the tax right off and some for the passion and personal responsibility that they have for the issue. But I must say that my girl Beyoncé has done something that I have been waiting for more Celebrities to do in their OWN communities (no shade to those who fight for issues in other countries, but we struggle here in the USA).  However, giving back to your community in a positive gesture goes beyond the present; it creates a legacy within the COMMUNITY that helped mode you. Even Though Bey & Jay “Are On The Run”….. Recently, the Houston native dropped $7 million to build a low-income housing project in her hometown for homeless men and women and children. They even named her a saint by her Pastor, Rev. Rudy Rasmus for her involvement with the church.

 

You wonder why some people are blessed? Just look at their giving pattern, and I’m not just talking about Tithe and offering, When you give freely you will receive abundantly! What The Heck Just Happened?

IMG_20130922_191032So I have a confession I don’t watch television often but chile whenever I sit down to watch it, it’s for Scandal ( my favorite show) Mary Mary, and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta! Whenever I miss any episode of any of these shows I’m hoping on Hulu going to YouTube to catch up. But before there was ever a Scandal, there was a huge Scandal on VH1 called Love And Hip Hop ATL! Honey that show consisted of the washed up producer Steebie J ( yes y’all his name is Steebie) Joslin his Jump off that wanted a music career more than she wanted to learn proper English, MiMi his baby mama and faithful “I miss you and my family I need a place to stay partner” Lil Scrappy, his baby mama, and his jump of, so on and so forth oh I can’t forget about K Michelle crazy self! LOL and a plethora of friends and relatives of the cast. But there was a baby momma on here that I really wanted to show their strength stop getting on Steebie J’ s bus and stand on her own two feet and that was MiMi. She’ s very smart has her own business she’s not a bad looking chic, her and Steebie have a very beautiful daughter. We learned on Season 2 that she had a rough childhood which explained why she sought out  attention and love in all the wrong places. The last season she ditched Steebie and started a relationship with Nikkio who really resembles Stebbie, has his mannerism a little less Swag and apparently according to Steebie fake rolex’s that tick? LOL but anywho I was happy that she was happy with anybody besides Steebie. Even though her and Nikko in my opinion had a very strained relationship I was like whatever as long as you not the third wheel in the Steebie triangle. The last episode of the last season MiMi said this long Monologue about how she’s done with Nikkio, Steebie, and wants to just focus on her business and her daughter. I was like finally this lady is making the main thing the main thing.

We fast forward to last week, I’m scrolling on Facebook and boom I see MiMi and Nikko has a sex tape. Being nosey and shocked I’m like nah this is a joke. But before I could even see the results a coworker shows me the “promo” I was like Jesus (y’all know I’m churchy) what about her daughter what about her dignity or self worth? Then I sat and thought ok she’s only relevant when she’s on the show, she probably trying to get on that “Kim Kardashian’s ” plan where you get a sex tape and blow up. But boo that’s a whole different ladder of success that you don’t have the strength, money or power to climb. My thoughts why as women do we degrade ourselves for fame? This is now apart of your legacy. Goggle  and search engines will forever store that. And your daughter can find this information about you at anytime. Selfish desires affect everyone connected to you not Just you!! MiMi you could Never say nothing crazy about Joslin anymore your right there on her level. Sad shame!!

Through Our Eyes

Normally I like to share fun, trendy post. But I really felt this should be shared. On a daily basis you pass by your coworkers, close friends and even close family that seem to live a regular life. But really when they are home, there truth faces them every day. Google has a made a cutting edge invention called “Google Glass” which allows you to text, get directions and much more from these glasses. There is a video that is trending that shows an average day in the life of a woman who wears these glasses, her day is normal until the end.

This really struck a chord within me.  I encounter over 100 people daily just in an 8 hour span, and I can imagine how many of those women and men go home to abusive situations and they have a smile on their face but hurt and pain in their heart. Take the time to be nice, share a smile, you never know how that can impact someone.

Just the other the day Samuel (my love bug) and I attended the first of many weddings that is on our schedule for the year. This bride was very Rocker Chic, with off the shoulder diamond chain, High Low Chiffon dress with a Madonna inspired 80’s veil. I myself have been scrolling Pinterest , wedding blogs and websites for my special day (stay tuned) and there are so many to choose from. Here is my list of the Top 5 wedding dresses that is guaranteed to make you look beautiful on your special day.

1. Lace: Monique L Huillier caused a buzz with this gown reminiscent of the wedding dress Catherine Middleton Duchess of Cambridge, wore on her special day. Lace sleeves are A glamorous addition to this A-line wedding dress.

2. Knee length dresses: Knee Length dresses were a must on the runway this year. If you are a shorter bride and don’t want your dress to swallow you up. Consider a knee length dress. Carolina Herrera crafted this above-the-knee gown from organza. Apart from the sweetheart neckline showing off intricate pleating,

3. Detailed Backs: Detailed backs were a huge trend this year with designers looking to open-back keyholes, architectural pleating and contemporary trains.
